AO EXCLUSIVE: Running Man Philippines members share thoughts and experiences from filming the show’s new season
On May 4th, a media conference for the second season of Running Man Philippines was held at GMA Network Studio. Press and content creators had the opportunity to meet with the members and ask them questions about their experiences from filming in Korea during winter season.

Running Man Philippines members, also known as “Runners”, consist of Kapuso stars Mikael Daez, Glaiza de Castro, Buboy Villar, Lexi Gonzales, Angel Guardian, Kokoy De Santos, and new member Miguel Tanfelix. They generously shared their stories and feelings on coming back with a new season and meeting special guests, including the original member from Running Man Korea, Haha.
Annyeong Oppa team had an exclusive interview with the members and here’s what they shared with us.
On what they feel about returning with season 2
Glaiza said that she’s very happy and shared that even after season 1, they all have been wanting to have season 2. GMA Network and SBS recognized that people, as well as the loyal fans of Running Man Korea, supported Running Man Philippines.
“We’re grateful that we’re able to introduce Running Man Philippines to the new audience and new generation.” she added.
Seeing the members of Running Man Korea last year on their Manila fanmeet, Glaiza said that they felt what the members have gone through because somehow they experienced the same thing for Running Man Philippines. She’s grateful that they were able to mutually share that experience with them.
Mikael was thankful as well despite the pressure of doing the adaptation of a globally successful variety-reality show from Korea.
Buboy and Lexi are grateful to God and to the fans who are the reason of the success of the first season. They want to viewers to feel the enjoyment that they feel while doing the show.
On filming during winter season
In the upcoming season, the members experienced the winter season (first time for some of them) and when asked what were the preparations for the huge adjustment, Mikael only answered with one word “Prayers”.
He, then, elaborated that what’s fun in doing Running Man Philippines is the spontaneity. The content they show becomes more fun when they don’t know what’s going to happen during filming.
Trivia: They went through filming with negative 22 degrees temperature!
On dream guests if there will be another season
Mikael and Buboy both said that they want to have Running Man Korea’s “Sparta” Kim Jong Kook as a guest but they will handle him differently.
While Mikael admitted that he will need the help of everyone to beat Jong Kook, Buboy bravely called him out on a one-on-one battle!
Lexi mentioned Yoo Jae Suk as someone she wants to meet as he is like the “Captain” of Running Man Korea. For the Filipino Runners, having any member from Running Man Korea will give them so much pride and honor.
Glaiza also wishes to have Anne Curtis and more artists from other networks as it is not as difficult to do cross-overs (on TV shows) nowadays.
On meeting and working with Haha of Running Man Korea
“Para akong nananaginip, sa totoo lang.” Glaiza expressed, still in disbelief.
She admires how Haha maintains his youthfulness despite being busy with so many things in life and Glaiza wants to be the same in future.
Mikael revealed that Haha also invited them to his restaurant (co-owned with fellow Running Man Korea member, Kim Jong Kook) and Angel Guardian shared that he sent them a video and even did a video call with them which she really appreciated.
Kokoy and Angel Guardian giddily shared how excited they were meeting Haha and how they all felt when they got on their bus after the filming. Kokoy also said that he felt that he became more of a ‘legit’ Runner after being with Haha on the show.
While Lexi said that the feeling was surreal, Buboy shared that he didn’t want the moment to end.
Lexi also shared her dream of having “Running Man Olympics” wherein Running Man in different countries will have to participate and fight against each other.
All the members still show excitement while recalling their moments with Haha and they want everyone to feel that as well by watching the episodes.
Season 1 Ultimate Runner, Angel Guardian
We asked Angel Guardian if she felt pressured as last season’s winner and she jokingly replied, “Pressure? What is that?” (Hahaha!)
She admitted that she didn’t feel pressured and was already happy about winning the first season. She focused more on enjoying the experience while still being her usual competitive self.
Newest Runner, Miguel!
Miguel revealed that he felt pressured to be in the lineup as a Runner especially on how to fit in with an already tight group from the previous season, but at the same time, he was excited as someone who loves adventure.
He also said that it was his first time in Korea, adding to his excitement.
What can we expect from Miguel on this show? He said that we will see a side of him that we rarely see on TV.

We had the privilege of watching the first episode of the new season and we can assure you that it will be fun and thrilling with new missions, challenges, and stronger bond of the Runners!
Watch out as they bring you Haha of Running Man Korea, KPop superstar Sandara Park, Nancy McDonnie, PPop star Josh of SB19, UNIS members Gehlee and Elisia, Pinoy athletes Eric “Eruption” Tai and Mark Striegl, award-winning actress Alessandra de Rossi, and Kapuso stars Rochelle Pangilinan, Paul Salas, Archie Alemania, Herlene Budol, Michael Sager, and Bianca Umali as guests this season.
