AO EXCLUSIVE: Whee In shares thoughts about coming back to Manila, talks about her inspiration for creating songs
MAMAMOO‘s Whee In has returned to Manila, enchanting PH Moomoos once again with her irresistible charm.
Jung Whee In, known mononymously as Whee In, started her career in 2014 as one of the members of the powerhouse Korean group, MAMAMOO. She made her solo debut in 2018 with her single, Easy. She is known for her impeccable vocal prowess and known for her great songs under her EPs, REDD and Whee. Last year, she released her album IN the Mood. For the first time, in her decade-long career, she will conquer numerous global stages on her own with her Whee In The Mood [BEYOND] Solo World Tour.
Ahead of the most anticipated event, Whee In the Mood [BEYOND] concert at the SM North SkyDome on April 13, proudly presented by L-Squared Productions PH, an exclusive press conference was held at Novotel Hotel on April 12. Her warm presence illuminated the whole room.
Thoughts About Coming Back to Manila
The press conference started with Whee In saying hello to everyone. The host of the event, Sam Oh, initially asked her a question about her memorable moment in Manila as she first visited Manila with the other MAMAMOO members for a concert. Whee In said that she wasn’t able to enjoy a lot of food here so this time she wants to try a lot of things especially, crispy pata.
Whee In said that after the MY CON concert, she received a lot of anticipation from the fans for her to visit the Philippines again so she took that as an energy for her to come back here to the Philippines and do her concert. So, she will do her best and the presence alone of the fans make the concert more memorable and it would be nice as well if the fans enjoy the concert with her.
Whee In as a Soloist
This is the first time Whee In held a concert as a soloist. When asked about what she feels about it, she said that compared to when she was with her team, it’s a lot heavier and burdensome on her end but then again, she receives so much cheers and love from Moomoos, so she can do well because of that.
Whee In shared her thoughts about the difference between performing as a soloist and performing with her group. According to her, she has her color and own vibes but with MAMAMOO each of the members has different personalities and different vibes altogether which creates different vibes.
She also mentioned her discovery about herself as a soloist. She said that she’s learning mind control and she talks to herself sometimes about how to make things better.
Her Inspiration for Creating Songs
Whee In’s life and music have been an inspiration to many.
When asked about her inspiration for creating songs, she responded, “I get inspiration from everything in my daily life, with my pet and I also write songs about my fans, so I got inspiration from the love that they send me.”
Her Future Plans
Whee In shared her plans after this concert tour. She said that she will use all the energy and passionate love from her fans to continue producing very good music in the future and she wants to be consistent with that.
The press conference wrapped up with Whee In’s heartfelt final message thanking everyone for taking the time attending to the event and sending her a lot of love and support. “I will repay it with a very good stage tomorrow at my concert, MAHAL KO KAYO!”, she concluded.
