About Spotify K-Pop ON! (온) “First Crush” campaign
The “First Crush” campaign allows K-Pop artists to cover songs of their sunbaes (senior artists) who ignited their passion for K-Pop, while paying homage to the original songs. This is a campaign launched in celebration of the anniversary Spotify K-Pop ON! (온). Together, the artists and fans from all around the globe will unite in their love for K-Pop and the artists who started it all.

ENHYPEN’s version of “I NEED U”
ENHYPEN’s cover is the first track to be released out of the three Spotify-exclusive covers for the campaign.
Compared to the original version which consists of an electronic synth, ENHYPEN’s version consists of a laidback acoustic instrumental for an Afro-rhythm twist. The cover version, however, remains to deliver the emotion of the lyrics but with a more mellow tone. This newly arranged version also allowed to show the group’s unique color and charm.
“This Spotify K-Pop ON! (온) single means so much to us. In addition to bringing ENGENEs (our fans) a new track, this was our chance to tell the stories of our beginnings with K-Pop through a song loved by the members. We’ve always appreciated Spotify’s support for music, so it’s an honor to be part of its K-Pop ON! (온) anniversary celebration. We hope listeners enjoy our rendition of I NEED U, and we can’t wait to hear their First K-Pop Crush stories too!”

ENHYPEN’S ongoing success
Ever since their debut, Jungwon, Heeseung, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo, and Ni-ki have been catching the hearts of fans worldwide as ENHYPEN. Their music has reached more than 8.7 million monthly listeners on Spotify, transcending language and cultural barriers. They have become the fifth most-streamed K-Pop Boy Group on Spotify Wrapped last 2023.
ENHYPEN’S rendition of “I NEED U” was released last February 16, 2024, on Spotify.
