Yoo Yeon Seok is a South Korean actor popularly known for giving everyone a major second lead syndrome with his character in Reply 1994 as Chilbong in 2014.
After this, he landed his first lead role in Warm and Cozy as Baek Geon U. Then, he became popular for starring in medical dramas with his roles as Dr. Kang Dong Joo in Romantic Doctor or Dr. Ahn Jeongwon in Hospital Playlist. He also starred as a ruthless samurai in Mr. Sunshine as Gu Dong Mae.

He is very hardworking
2020 is one of the most active years for Yoo Yeon Seok.
After the success of his drama, Hospital Playlist last May, he already proceeded in promoting his new movie Steel Rain 2: Summit with Jung Woo Sung and Kwak Do Won. It was released last July and received good reviews and ratings.
He recently completed the filming of his movie My Heart Puppy with Cha Tae Hyun, and is currently filming Matin Calme, a Korean-French film with French-Ukrainian actress Olga Kurylenko.
As you may have seen from Hospital Playlist, Yoo Yeon Seok is also a very talented singer so it’s not hard to imagine him starring in a musical.
From September to October, he played the title role in the musical Werther for its 20th anniversary. Later this year, he will start filming for the second season of Hospital Playlist.
He has a lot of hobbies
If there is one thing you must learn about Yoo Yeon Seok, it is that he has a lot of hobbies.
To start the long list of his hobbies, he makes his own cosmetics, does gardening, makes furniture, and does interior designing. He’s hands-on with his previous resto-bar Lua Lounge, where he designed the interior together with his self-made furniture.
In his reality show Coffee Friends, he showcased his skill in cooking by preparing various foreign, and local dishes.
He also showed great interest in photography. He particularly likes film cameras. In fact, he always brings one during his shoots to capture moments with his co-stars and staff.
As a man who is also passionate about music, he knows how to play different kinds of instruments such as the guitar, piano, or even the drums.

In his movie Steel Rain 2: Summit, he played the role of a North Korean leader and delivered most of his lines in English.
Additionally, for his upcoming film Matin Calme, he will be playing the role of a detective with fluent English skills.
He has a vision to help out the children in need
In 2014, he went with World Vision International, a humanitarian aid organization, in Ethiopia to do volunteer work to help the children by improving their classrooms. He told the story of how he met a lovely girl who dreams of becoming the Prime Minister of Ethiopia.
The reality show Coffee Friends that was aired in 2019, was inspired by him and Son Ho Jun’s monthly project in 2018. This is a project wherein they would open up a coffee truck, serve people their coffee, and donate all the proceeds to charity.
The show starred Yoo Yeon Seok and his long-term friend Son Ho Jun. They opened a restaurant on a tangerine farm in Seogwipo, Jeju Island for 9 days.
At the end of the show, they donated the total profits they earned to disabled children.
He offers great fan service
Aside from his sense of responsibility to help out the people in need, he also showed great fan service.
Last August 14, together with Lee Dong Wook, Kim Bum, Song Seung Heon, and Lee Kwang Soo, they held a free online fan meeting called Men and Mission wherein they answered fan questions, and performed their requests as missions.
These days, he often does live on his Instagram account to thank his fans for their love and support.
