CONFIRMED: Jo Jung Suk is the 1st actor nominated in the TOP 10 Melon Music Awards with ‘ALOHA’

Actor Jo Jung Suk confirmed to be the first Korean actor who has been nominated in the 2020 Melon Music Awards.

He was able to join the list of 10 candidates with his song Aloha, an official soundtrack from popular drama Hospital Playist.

This year, the TOP 10 candidates in Melon Music Awards can be ranked if they have been gathered approximately 600 points during the weekly popularity or consummated five times the top spot in the music chart.

Luckily, Jo Jung Suk achieves the 600 points in weekly popularity with 20 times on the daily chart and for 20 times on the weekly chart.

Then, it helped him successfully became the TOP 10 candidate on the 22nd of June.

Particularly, Aloha is a remake of the hit song by the South Korean mixed gender group called Cool from their album First Whisper in 2001; however, the actor proved his singing ability as he sang with heartwarming and sweet voice to the song.

It was first released in episode three of the said K-drama, where the five medical students sang in karaoke during college.

After they released the actor’s song version, he unexpectedly won the top spot in various music chart.

The actor also expressed his gratitude and happiness towards the success of the song.

Jo Jung Suk said:

“It’s a song that I sang for the drama and I had no idea it would receive this much love. I’m very happy and grateful, this is probably a new experience through Hospital Playlist as my co-actors and i sang this song and a lots of people expresss their love to the song, It’s so much fun and I’m happy. I hope that this energy can be shared with a lot of people.”

A lot of people are hoping that the actor will win the trophy for the first time since he has never reached the top 10 before.
