999 Project: A Look At Super Junior’s Grand Comeback Scheme

On September 2, 2019, Super Junior finally eased their fans’ anxiety by releasing the teaser of their much anticipated Naver Vlive variety show “SuJu Returns 3”. This signaled the beginning of the group’s most awaited comeback after their 10 – year “Militatus” (military enlistment hiatus) that the members named as the “999 Project”.

At exactly 3 o’clock in the morning of September 3, fans were greatly surprised when a countdown reading “999 hours” was suddenly launched on Super Junior’s official website. Mysterious image teasers and a promotion calendar accompanied the said countdown clock on their official website.

This promotion calendar has been an effective tool that kept the fans excited every day. Moreover, it was also successful in building up their comeback hype. Label SJ have been receiving praises for this active and well – planned promotion scheme that other groups can actually learn from.

As of today, October 11, 2019, only 3 days remain on the said calendar before we reach D – 0.
