On August 30, Label SJ announced that Kim Heechul won’t be participating in the upcoming Super Junior World Tour ‘Super Show 8’ due to his current health condition.

We would like to tell you about Super Junior’s ninth album, which is due to be released in the second half of this year, and “Super Show 8” that will be held at Olympic Stadium in Seoul from October 12-13.
Eight members, including Leeteuk, Yesung, Shindong, Eunhyuk, Donghae, Choi Siwon, Ryeowook, and Kyuhyun, will be participating in “Super Show 8.” Kim Heechul will be in the content for the ninth album as well as the variety show, but after sufficient discussion with the members, he decided not to participate in “Super Show 8” and the music show promotions for the ninth album.
It is difficult for Kim Heechul to continuously perform on stage with his current leg condition, so please understand our decision.

Heechul will still be participating as planned on Super Junior‘s upcoming 9th album and entertainment show promotions. However, after consulting with the other members, it was decided that he won’t be participating in the Super Show 8 and all music show broadcasts.
Heechul have been long suffering from the permanent damage on his left leg due to his car accident on his way back to Seoul after coming back from the funeral of Donghae’s father in Mokpo back in August 10, 2006. The accident shattered his left leg and required metal rods to be inserted inside and placed for a while. It was only in 2008 when the rest of the rods were completely taken out from his body. Since then, the amount of physical activities that he can take have been restrained.
This problem on his leg health have been raised everytime the group is scheduled to have a comeback. He was also recently diagnosed with Rheumatoid arthritis that adds to the pain from his already injured leg.
He once talked about it during the Lifebar episode with Shindong and Eunhyuk.
