The Long Wait Is Over: South Korean Actor Lee Jong-suk Will Finally Meets His Filipino Fans

We all know that many filipino fans especially those who are into K-drama have been waiting for this moment to happen. And now, our hopes are finally turning into a reality. Finally, YNK Entertainment and sponsored by Pulp Live World presents CRANK UP: 2018 LEE JONG SUK FANMEETING TOUR in MANILA on November 18, 2018 (Sunday) at the ARANETA COLISEUM, Quezon City.

As we are getting ready for his upcoming fanmeeting, let’s get to know this Korean superstar and how he captured our hearts.

Born on September 14, 1989. He studied at Konkuk University Majored in Professional Motion Pictures and Art. He graduated in 2016.

In 2005, Jong-suk began his modelling career at the Seoul Collection walkway. He was only 16 years old, making him the youngest male model to walked at the said fashion show.

Did you know that he was trained as an idol group member for three months? (Can you imagine him singing and dancing? Or with different hair colors? Hihihi!)

Finally, In 2010, he made his acting debut in the korean drama series, Prosecutor Princess starring Kim So-hyeon and Park Si-hoo. He also made his big-screen debut in the South Korean horror movie Ghost. Also in 2010, he also starred in the hit Korean Drama series Secret Garden alongside Ha Ji-won, Hyun Bin and Yoon Sang-hyun.

In 2011, he appeared in the sitcom High Kick Season 3. This is where he gained so much popularity from the viewers.

In 2013, He starred in the drama School: 2013 alongside his real-life bestfriend since their modelling days, Actor Kim Woo-bin. He bagged the Best New Actor Award at the 2012 KBS Drama Awards.

His popularity even reached the international audiences which made him popular outside South Korea especially in China. His medical drama Doctor Stranger was a huge success in China, which explains why.

In 2014-2015, Jong-suk starred in another hit korean drama Pinocchio alongside Park Shin-hye.

In July 2016, Lee Jong-suk made a comeback with Korean fantasy/thriller drama W: Two Worlds alongside Actress Han Hyo-joo. This drama gained so much popularity in South Korea, also in foreign countries as well. The same year, he was also starred in Lotte Duty Free’s Promotional Web Drama Seven First Kisses alongside Lee Cho-hee, Choi Ji-Woo, Lee Joon-gi, Park Hae-jin, Ji Chang-Wook, EXO’s Kai, 2PM’s Taecyeon and Lee Min-ho.

In 2017, It was indeed a lucky year for Lee Jong-suk as he starred in the crime film VIP where he played the role of Kim Kwang-il, a North Korean politician’s son who became a prime suspect for a serial murder case. This marked Jong-suk’s first antagonist role.

Finally, The same year, he recently starred in another hit fantasy-mystery drama While You Were Sleeping alongside Bae Suzy and Jung Hae-In. This drama is set to air on Philippine’s local channel, GMA 7 this 2018 or early 2019.
