The cast and creative team behind anime Overgeared are coming to Anime Festival Asia (AFA) Singapore 2026 in a special event hosted by Crunchyroll.

AFA Singapore, a convention that brings Japanese pop culture fans across Southeast Asia, will run from November 27 to 29 at Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre.

Meet and Greet

On November 28, a special AFA Day Stage panel at NEXT Stage will give fans an exclusive look behind the scenes of Overgeared.

The people behind Overgeared, namely Japanese voice actor Tatsumaru Tachibana, the voice of Grid, director Ayako Kono, and executive producer Nobuhiro Osawa, will share their process for bringing the anime to life.

A live reading will offer an immersive way to connect with the characters, while a meet-and-greet session provides an opportunity for fans to interact with the guests directly.

Fun booth

Overgeared fans can head to Crunchyroll’s booth for a special activation. It features a puzzle wall inspired by Grid’s craftsmanship, plus a dedicated photo spot showcasing Grid himself. Those who complete the challenge will receive a Pagma’s Rare Book notebook, while stocks last.

Synopsis of Overgeared

According to the AFA website, Overgeared tells the story of Grid, a player of SATISFY, which is a VR game where players escape everyday life and chase real-world fame and fortune. Grid can’t seem to catch a break anywhere.

Everything changes when a tough quest makes him the heir to a legendary blacksmith. His stats reset to zero, but he levels up fast and crafts some seriously powerful gear.
