Disney+ stars win Best Actor and Best Supporting Actress at the 62nd Baeksang Arts Awards!
It’s another achievement for Disney+ stars!
Star-studded artists gathered together to celebrate the Korean entertainment industry’s excellence in film, television, and theater at the 62nd Baeksang Arts Awards, which was held on May 8 at COEX Hall in Seoul.
At the said event, the stars of Disney+ series Made in Korea and Low Life took home the awards for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actress, respectively, at South Korea’s prestigious 62nd Baeksang Awards.
Hyun Bin bagged the Best Actor award. In his acceptance speech, Hyun Bin thanked the whole team and did not forget to thank his wife, Son Ye Jin, and his son as well for supporting him throughout the filming and said “I love you” to them.
Made in Korea is set in the turbulent 1970s and depicts the story of intense tension between Baek Ki Tae, an ambitious man who has a desire for wealth and power, and Jang Gun Young, a dedicated prosecutor who does everything to stop him. They will find themselves involved in an era-defining incident that will forever change their futures. Hyun Bin plays the role of Baek Ki Tae.
Director Woo Min Ho got nominated for the Best Director Award, and Kim Tae Sung for the Best Technical Achievement (Cinematography)
On the other hand, Lim Soo Jung was named the Best Supporting Actress for her exceptional portrayal of Yang Jung Sook in Low Life, which is based on a webtoon. The story is inspired by the 1975 incident where a sunken ship was discovered off the coast of Sinan, South Korea.
The drama also got nominated for various categories- Best Drama Award, Kim Jin Wook for Best New Actor Award, Kim Min for Best New Actress Award, and Kim Nam Sik for Best Technical Achievement (VFX).
