I.O.I Finally Reveals Official Fandom Name
Grab your tissues and lightsticks, fellow I.O.I stans, because this is not a drill! After a decade of holding onto our memories and rewatching Produce 101 clips like it’s still 2016, our girls have finally given us a home.
On April 13, I.O.I officially announced our fan club name: Angdungi!
If that name sounds familiar, it’s because it hits right in the feels. It’s a beautiful, nostalgic callback to the nickname the girls used for the fans ten years ago.
As if a fandom name wasn’t enough to make us lose our minds, the countdown to May is officially ON! The queens are returning to the stage, and the lineup is looking stacked. We’ll be seeing nine of our favorites coming back together: Jeon Somi, Kim Se Jeong, Chungha, Choi Yoojung, Kim So Hye, Jung Chaeyeon, Kim Doyeon, Lim Nayoung, and Yeonjung.
While our hearts are a little heavy because Kang Mina and Zhou Jie Qiong can’t join this specific comeback due to their pre-scheduled commitments, we know they are cheering the girls on from the sidelines just as loudly as we are. Once an 11, always an 11!
Angdungi, let’s get ready to show the world that I.O.I’s impact hasn’t faded one bit. May can’t come soon enough!
