Written by: Kami
HATSUNE MIKU EXPO 2025 in Manila finally happened for the first time at the SM Mall of Asia Arena last November 16, 2025. Fans who had been waiting for over a decade were beyond excited to witness this long-awaited concert come to life.
From the moment attendees arrived, the passion of the Filipino Vocaloid community was impossible to miss. Many fans came in full Miku cosplay or dressed as other beloved Vocaloid characters. This showed their dedication and preparation for this historic event. Teal filled every corner of the venue, from wigs and outfits to lightsticks and official merchandise. The entire arena looked like a sea of Miku’s signature color.

Before the concert even started, the energy was already strong. Fans began orchestrating synchronized lightstick choreographies, creating waves of coordinated colors and motions throughout the arena. These spontaneous and community-driven movements continued throughout the night and became one of the defining sights of the event.

The concert opened with the introduction of the Crypton Future Media Vocaloid lineup: KAITO, MEIKO, Megurine Luka, Kagamine Rin and Len, and of course, the star of the show, Hatsune Miku.
Miku officially kicked off the night with powerful performances of her hit songs “Artifact” and “The Vampire.” Other fan-favorite tracks, including “M@GICAL☆CURE! LOVE ♥ SHOT!”, “39,” and “Intergalactic Bound,” were also part of the setlist.

The excitement did not stop with Miku. Fans were treated to solo stages and special duet numbers from the other iconic Vocaloids. One of the standout highlights of the night was their energetic performance of “shake it!” with Miku, which sent the crowd into loud cheers and coordinated lightstick waves.
A unique and notable element of this concert was the presence of a live band that added depth and electrifying energy to each performance. As the show neared its end, the band members were introduced on stage.
- Guitar: Ryuto Ajima
- Drums: Takumi Nishizawa
- Bass: Wakazaemon
- Keyboard: Ken Edo
Even after the final song, fans were not ready to leave. Chants of “encore” echoed throughout the arena, along with loud song requests from the crowd. Miku did not disappoint. The encore featured “Rolling Girl,” “DECORATOR,” and “Melt.” These songs created the perfect ending by combining nostalgia, energy, and fan favorites.

“I’m already excited for the next time we meet. See you again soon!” Miku told the crowd. The Filipino fans responded with excitement and warmth. One thing is certain. The community will be more than ready to welcome the next MIKU EXPO in the Philippines.
We would like to thank AEG Presents Asia and Ovation Productions for inviting us to this magical event!
