Kentaro Sakaguchi Warms Hearts at Fan Meeting in the Philippines

Japanese actor and model Kentaro Sakaguchi returned to the Philippines for a much-anticipated fan meeting, his third visit to the country. Hosted by fellow Japanese personality Fumiya, the event was filled with laughter, excitement, and heartfelt moments that brought Kentaro even closer to his Filipino fans.

The fan meeting kicked off with a brief Q&A session, where Kentaro shared his fond memories of the Philippines. He recalled filming one of his dramas in Manila and expressed how touched he was by the warm and welcoming nature of the people. During his stay, he also got to try local delicacies such as dried banana and turon, which he seemed to enjoy.

Fun Games with Kentaro

The event featured a variety of interactive games that delighted the fans. One of the highlights was the Speed Drawing Game, where he drew a variety of things in a few minutes, challenging fans to guess what he was drawing.

In another game called For Game, For You, Kentaro played alongside lucky fans. Those who successfully completed their mission won a special Polaroid photo with the actor.

The crowd also enjoyed Playback Kentaro, a segment where famous scenes from his shows were played on screen. Kentaro had to guess his own lines, leading to many lighthearted and humorous moments.

In the final segment, Kentaro’s Counselling Room, selected fan letters were read aloud, and Kentaro offered advice straight from the heart. He shared that he’s an ENFP in the MBTI personality types, and talked about how his impression of the Philippines has evolved. Unlike his previous visits, which were mostly work-related and limited to filming locations, this trip allowed him to interact directly with fans—and he was clearly enjoying every second.

When asked where he would take a Filipino fan if they visited Japan, Kentaro said he’d bring them to Hokkaido, where they could experience the cold weather and falling snow—a true taste of Japanese winter.

A Promise to Return

Before the event wrapped up, Kentaro shared a warm closing message: “I’m really grateful to meet you guys and talk to you. I promise I’ll come again. Actually, I was a little shocked that a lot of you can understand Japanese! So, when you see a blonde man eating halo-halo—that’s me. You guys are really, really nice. This was a really warm fan meeting, and I was able to enjoy every bit of it.”

As the event concluded, fans left with smiles on their faces and memories to last a lifetime. With heartfelt interactions and genuine appreciation, Kentaro Sakaguchi once again proved why he continues to capture the hearts of fans not just in Japan—but around the world.
