AO EXCLUSIVE: GOT7’s JAY B talks about his latest album, plans on scuba diving in Bohol, and his concert

The Philippines, a tropical country, just got even hotter when GOT7’s leader and all-rounder soloist, JAY B, appeared at the media conference of his Tape: Re Load concert in Manila. He looked so breathtaking as he walked the stage clad in white button-down long sleeves partnered with blue jeans and his famous eye smile that melted everyone’s hearts. We cannot take it easy as he’s truly a darling! 

It was held on March 1, 2025, at SM Mall of Asia Amphitheater, L4 MOA Sky, attended by press people and hundreds of Ahgases who were very excited to see him a day before his most anticipated concert. 

He was smiling brightly as he greeted everyone with, “Hello. I’m GOT7’s Jay B”, and as expected, loud cheers and screams filled the venue. 

His latest album “Archive 1: Road Runner”

“Archive 1: Road Runner” was his first full-length album and first release after his mandatory service completion. When asked what’s his favorite track, he chose “Crash”. He stated that during the process of making the album, he focused more on having fun as it was the first time again after a long time. A question about his evolution as an artist followed through. He quickly answered that honestly he wasn’t able to think about it since he was busy preparing GOT7 album.

Prior to his mandatory service, he successfully wrapped up his first world tour, “Tape: Press Pause”. He said that during this time, he wanted to give a vibe with younger, lively, and pop-based performances while in Tape: Re Load, Jay B is very eager to show a sexier side of him.

He also mentioned “Cloud Nine”, a track from his latest album, is the song that represents him.

On working with other artists

Aside from being a singer and dancer, Jay B is also a great producer and songwriter. Annyeong Oppa asked if he would want to produce songs for other artists. He expressed that if there’s an opportunity, he would want to but as of the moment, he’s having a lot of fun creating music for himself, GOT7, and trying out different genres.  

Being GOT7’s leader

After almost 3 years, GOT7 had their most awaited comeback and concert. According to him, it was very fun to be with his brothers again but right now it feels very empty and sad as he’s now alone preparing for his activities. 

GOT7 members have been visiting the Philippines in “tingi version” for the past years. The GOT7’s leader said that he is aware of that, however, they haven’t had a chance to talk about their own experiences due to their busy schedules.

“I think the members trusting me as a leader is what matters,” Jay B reacted when asked about him being the best leader. He also said that he’s not the best in which the Ahgases collectively disagree as everyone knows he’s one the best in the industry.

Jay B as cheeky as ever, answered that 10 years ago, he’s still cute but now, he got old so he’s sexier.

He got so embarrassed with his playful remark and immediately apologized but of course, everyone agreed with his first statement. (Jay B, you’re still cute and sexy!)

Scuba diving in Bohol

A lucky fan’s question was chosen and it’s about his plans on scuba diving in Bohol. Jay B is a certified rescue diver. He’s planning and hoping for the first quarter of this year but of course, he won’t tell anyone the exact date as he wants it to be more private. He playfully told Ahgases, “But you can say hi, I will hi back and just walk away.” 

And JV, the lucky fan, received a flying kiss from Jay B himself. Definitely a ticked from every fan’s bucket list! 

Message to fans

As the sun started to set, it was also Jay B’s time to bid his goodbye. He expressed his gratitude to everyone for coming to his media conference. Jay B invited everyone to see him at his concert as he prepared a lot. (which was held last March 2, 2025, at Hall 1, SMX Convention Center Manila). 

It was a short meeting but just like the sunset, it was a beautiful memory that will always be remembered.
