BLACKPINK's Jisoo releases debut mini album "AMORTAGE"

Following BLACKPINK’s Jisoo’s solo debut in 2023, she finally made her comeback with her debut mini album AMORTAGE via Warner Records.

Last February 14, South Korean superstar singer, actress, and international style icon Jisoo released AMORTAGE which consists of four tracks, including her lead single earthquake, and its accompanying Christian Breslauer (Doja Cat, SZA, Ariana Grande) directed music video, Your Love, TEARS, and Hugs & Kisses.

AMORTAGE is the combination of the words “amor” and “montage,” leaning into the emotional stages of love and the many moments of a relationship.

Jisoo is the last member of BLACKPINK to debut as a soloist and successfully did it in 2023 with her single album Me which accolade “the best-selling album by a female soloist in South Korea” and “the first to sell over a million copies.” With its lead single, Flower, popularity, Jisoo became the “First Female K-Pop Solo Artist to Achieve 1 million Preorders,” tallying the “Highest First-Week Sales by a Female Soloist” and the “Highest 24-Hour Count of Any K-Pop Music Video in 2023.

The song also gained the achievement of being the ”Highest-Charting Hit in Canadian History by a Korean Solo Female.” Stateside, it catapulted to #2 on the Billboard Global 200 and #1 on the Global Excl. U.S. Chart.

We can’t deny the fact that Jisoo is not only a talented performer but also her influence has burgeoned across fashion and culture. She has served as a global ambassador for Dior, Cartier, and Dyson in addition to being named the face of ALO Yoga in 2024. During the same year, she made waves as “the most-mentioned celebrity during New York Fashion Week.”

Moreover, Jisoo took her journey in acting and appeared in the 2015 series The Producers. She landed her first leading role in the 2021 series Snowdrop, and her recently released series Newtopia is currently streaming on Prime Video. She also has an upcoming film titled Omniscient Reader and a series, Monthly Boyfriend.
