AO EXCLUSIVE: LUCAS talks about his music, fan meeting, and his Filipino fans
I was nervous and worried before this project but the staff took good care of me… and the fans, the love of them also, they’re telling me that they are here for me those words encouraged me to be a better person.
LUCAS
On June 15, 2024, LUCAS greeted friends from the media and a few lucky LUMIS who won the raffle for access to his media conference.
To warm up and set the mood in the room, the media conference started with a fast talk, where LUCAS got to answer some questions and choose with the choices.
He was asked such questions as, which Filipino snack he would pick to eat. A balut or a Durian, surprisingly he answered Durian!
LUCAS was also asked if he were to catch an animal, what would that be? A monitor lizard known as bayawak versus cobra minus the venom, he answered the latter one!
LUCAS also added that he preferred to hike Mt. Pinatubo rather than scuba diving in Batangas.
Everyone in the room had a good laugh especially LUCAS himself!
LUCAS’s MUSIC AND STYLE
Q: Have you found your sound, and can you define it?
LUCAS shared that he tried a lot of things, such as finding his rap tone. But, what defines his sound is just him, LUCAS. And he promises LUMIS to do good music for them.
Q: As a soloist, what have you learned so far?
LUCAS mentioned that he was nervous and worried before this project but the staff took good care of him and drew a lot of strength from his supporters.
Q: You recently released a solo album and embarked on this fancon, what else can we expect from LUCAS [new music, new album, or acting]?
Every LUMIS inside the room gave their loudest cheer upon hearing the word “acting.”
Per LUCAS if there is an opportunity he would like to try acting.
Music-wise, LUCAS would want to try different styles, after releasing “Crushing on You” he realized that maybe singing is better than rapping as he got a lot of support and good feedback regarding the song.
LUCAS AND HIS ALBUM “RENEGADE”
LUCAS shared that as soon as he heard the demo music, the melody stuck in his mind for a month.
He also added that when he looked through the meaning of the lyrics it resonated with him the most and realize that this song must be meant for him.
He added that RENEGADE is a rap and hip-hop song about finding your strong inner self and fighting your way through life.
Q. If you could take lyrics from one song and dedicate it to your Filipino fans, which line would that be?
To be honest, everything is good he uttered. But for Filipino LUMIS, it would be “Crushing on You” because of the sweet lyrics.
FIAT LUX THE FANCON
FIAT LUX came from a Latin word that means, “there is light.” He also added that his fans are his light, and that is the reason he chose this title.
LUCAS AND HIS IMPRESSION OF HIS FILIPINO FANS
LUCAS shared that when he arrived a night before the fancon, he was casually looking for food and roaming around the area, he got to see random LUMIS around the vicinity of the venue as well.
He then added that it was the first time he heard from a fan the line “Enjoy Philippines.” The fans were hospitable and welcomed him with open hearts.
In addition, he mentioned that the Filipino fans are really good at English, which encourages him to learn and practice English more.
On the other hand, LUCAS gladly shared the Tagalog phrases he had learned for his fancon.
“Mabuhay! Ako si LUCAS, ikinagagalak kitang makita. Mahal kita!”
He ended the media conference by sharing that he got to try the famous “Jollibee.” He added that he wants to try the Filipino food “Lechon” and “Mangoes” given the opportunity.
