The celebration of Korean culture continues in “K-Culture Next Door: 2024 Korea Festival” Cebu!
Maayong adlaw, Cebuanos! (trans. Good day, Cebuanos!)
After a K-blasting experience at the K-Culture Next Door: 2024 Festival in Manila, the celebration continues at the Queen City of the South…Cebu!

What is K-Culture Next Door?
K-Culture Next Door is a festival that celebrates the 75 years of friendship between Korea and the Philippines. Like neighbors, these two countries are just a doorbell away from each other.
‘Next Door’ Performances to watch out for
With Cebu being an island in the Philippines, an island from Korea will be participating in this event as well, namely Jeju Island.
Jeju Island has a unique history, culture, and traditions that will be exciting to see more in this festival. Performances by the Jeju Special Self-Governing Provincial Dance Company will showcase Jeju Island’s repertoire of works and utilizing their island’s distinct cultural and historical characteristics. They will be performing at the opening ceremony on June 15, 2:00 PM.

Of course, the Philippines will also be having a performance of their own by the University of Cebu Dance Troupe, who won “Best Folkloric Dance Troupe” at the 2012 Korean World Travel Fair and Expo. The dance troupe is under the tutelage of artistic director, choreographer, and stage director, Victor Hao Cuenco. Additionally, the dance troupe has performed in several international cultural festivals including those in South Korea, China, Cambodia, Vietnam—just to name a few.

That’s not all!
Experience a fusion of taekwondo and dance performances by Korean pop taekwondo group, K-Tigers! They have over 1.4 million subscribers on YouTube and have shown unique performances combining K-Pop dances and taekwondo.

K-Pop dancers…it’s your time to shine because a K-Pop dance cover competition is coming to you! Everyone’s K-Pop: Cebu is intended to highlight Cebuanos who love dancing to K-Pop songs.
Experience the richness of Korea
Various Korean government agencies like Korea Tourism Organization-Manila (KTO), Jeju Tourism Organization, Korea Copyright Protection Agency Manila Representative (KCOPA) will be bringing a slice of Korea to Cebu!
Get to experience writing in hangeul (Korean alphabet), wearing hanbok (costume), playing jeontongnori (traditional games), and tasting Korean food!
Hyundai Motor Philippines will also be there to showcase their latest vehicles, along with AMOREPACIFIC Philippines which will be giving out K-beauty tips.
This festival won’t be possible without the collaboration of local partners such as SM Supermalls and the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA).
