Special moments, good music, and surprises in VANNER’s “The Flag: A to V” concert
Last April 27-28, Korean boy group VANNER held their first concert in Seoul entitled “The Flag: A to V,” with a livestream for global fans made possible by FLNK.
It was a special time that VANNER shared with VVS, where the members were able to show not only their amazing skills but also their genuine sides and love for the fans.
Here’s a recap of the memorable things that happened during the group’s concert on April 27:
Live performances of VANNER’s songs
During the concert, VANNER showcased their talents and charms with the live performances of their discography. They performed recent title tracks like Jackpot and Performer, as well as 2024 versions of their earlier releases that fans have been wanting to see like Form, Crazy Love, and Better Do Better.
Of course, they also did cool stages of B-side tracks that hyped up the crowd such as Circuit, Want U Back, Purge, Nasty, Afterparty, and Ponytail. On top of that, they performed heartwarming songs like Be My Love, Diamond, TBH, Savior, The Day I Meet You, and Across the Stars. For PEAK TIME enthusiasts, VANNER also made sure to include their iconic song Skyscraper in the setlist.
Special covers + unit stages
Aside from VANNER’s music, they prepared special stages wherein they performed cover performances with units and as a group. These were selected by fans’ choice and they teased the fans ahead of the concert with an emoji hint about the cover they were going to do for the day.
For the April 27 concert, VANNER performed “Sherlock” by SHINEE, showing their impressive take on the hit song.
For the unit stage, Gon and Hyesung performed “Swipe by Taeyong & Ten” with charismatic vibes, making fans swoon from their cover.
Meanwhile, Taehwan, Yeonggwang, and Sungkook performed “LO$ER=LO♡ER” by TXT, which was refreshing to watch as it was a different style from VANNER’s usual concepts.
New song release
During their concert, VANNER introduced a new song “Be Together,” which is a track that the members wrote lyrics for. It is a song about the change that VANNER will go through, as the group announced that Sungkook will be leaving for his military enlistment soon after the concert.
The members shared that the song expresses comfort to each other while waiting for the day to meet again, and conveys the emotions of wanting to be together with VVS.
After showing a special video of their recording day, VANNER performed “Be Together” and Hyesung got emotional when Sungkook entered. He said it’s because Sungkook went through a lot for the song. In the end, the members got together to give Sungkook a hug.
Quality time with fans
The concert gave VANNER and VVS a chance to enjoy together while appreciating the group’s songs and the members’ bond with the fans.
At the start of the show, Gon and Hyesung taught VVS three signals to help them enjoy the concert. They were cute poses that VANNER would do randomly, and VVS will respond with cheers or claps.
VANNER also did a segment where they granted fans’ wishes. The maknae, Yeonggwang, was requested to do aegyo. In the end, all members did it as the fans’ wanted to see them. Gon and Sungkook also did a short cover of BABYMONSTER’s “SHEESH”.
The fans’ passion for VANNER was shown with their loud fan chants at every performance. VVS also prepared a paper hearts fan project and sang “Like A Star” to call VANNER for their encore.
Ahead of the concert, international VVS showed their support for VANNER with special gifts like food and flowers for the members.
Sincerity of members
Throughout the concert, VANNER expressed their genuine thoughts and let VVS see their emotional selves. At the end, they thanked everyone wholeheartedly, including their fans, parents, and even all staff behind the scenes.
“It’s a great luck for everyone to come together and enjoy VANNER’s music,” Their leader, Taehwan said. Yeonggwang shared that they read the fans’ letters and were touched by the good things they wrote.
Meanwhile, Hyesung said that while getting ready for the concert, he felt sad that it’d be the last with Sungkook (for a while) and they have to promote with 4 members after. Still, he promised that they’d do well with the fans’ support and overcome it like they always do.
Sungkook shared that they had many worries for the concert as they really wanted to do well, and promised the fans that they’ll meet again. Gon gave him comfort and advice as someone who’s done serving, that time will fly fast, and reassured Sungkook that the members will do their best in his place.
Never-ending encore
The energetic night with VANNER didn’t end quickly. It was evident that the members wanted to spend a longer time with fans as they came back to the stage repeatedly after teasing that they’ll be leaving.
For the encores, VANNER performed their lively songs like Rollin, Trampoline, and Upper. They even had a 2nd stage for “Form,” encore version.
As it was their 1st concert, VANNER prepared a lot for the fans and successfully delivered their best performances as well as their sincere feelings to all viewers.
It was surely an unforgettable memory for VVS, as we continue to support VANNER’s activities and eagerly wait for Sungkook’s return.
