Park Jihoon and Hong Yeji to star in upcoming fantasy historical drama, “Fantasy Sonata”
Produce series alums, Park Jihoon and Hong Yeji will be paired up for the first time in the upcoming fantasy historical drama, Fantasy Sonata.
The upcoming drama is said to have a heartbreaking and turbulent story about a prince with different personalities and his concubine who is faced with inevitable choices.
Park Jihoon will play the role of a prince with two personalities, Hyun and Akhi. Hong Yeji will be playing an assassin, Yeonwol to avenge her family and pose as a concubine to the prince. While avenging her family, she wakes up with no memory of who she was and becomes Queen Eunhyo, the concubine of the prince.
Park Jihoon is known for his participation in Produce 101 Season 2, where he also finished second place and became a member of Wanna One. He has recently bagged the “Best New Actor” award at the Korea Drama Awards 2023 for his outstanding performance in Weak Hero: Class 1. He has also starred in K-Dramas like Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency, Love Revolution, and At a Distance, Spring is Green.
Hong Yeji is also an alumnus of the Produce series, specifically from Produce 48 (also known as Produce 101 Season 3). This will be her first drama project but has experience acting in movies like School Caste and 2037.
Fantasy Sonata is based on the webtoon of the same name. It is said to air in January next year in KBS, with new episodes release from Monday-Tuesday.
