K-Movie Recommendation: "Okay! Madam"

Looking for an action packed filled with comedy kind of Korean movie to binge-watch this coming weekend? I’m sure you’ll love this K-flick starring Uhm Jung-hwa, Park Sung-woong, Lee Sang-yoon, Bae Jeong-nam and Lee Sun-bin entitled Okay! Madam.

Let me tell you a short (and spoiler free lol) summary of the story. Okay! Madam tells the story of an ordinary family with a simple daily life. Mi-young (played by Uhm Jung-hwa) is an owner of twisted bread shop while her husband, Seok-hwan (played by Park Sung-woong) works as a computer technician. They have one daughter that studies ballet but really wants to learn Taekwondo and is a fan of martial arts movies. Their everyday has changed when Mi-young wins a free trip to Hawaii together with her family. Things go unexpected when the plane they get on has been taken over by the North Korean Hijackers led by Cheol-seung (played by Lee Sang-yoon) who are after a secret agent, who also happens to be on the same plane as Mi-young and Seok-hwan’s family. And the unexpected plot twists will take place.

It’s definitely a breath of fresh air to see movies like this. Rom-coms are fine but it’s pretty common to watch and we easily predict what’s going to happen because most of the time, it’s always “the male lead gets the female lead” kind of ending.

What I like about this movie is it’s action but with a taste of comedy and the cast line-ups. Uhm Jung-hwa is really something here. This is actually the first projects of hers that I’ve seen and I must say that she’s definitely one of the versatile Korean actress to watch for. I’m starting to look for her other projects. *smiley*

For Park Sung-woong and Lee Sang-yoon, they are always good on this kind of movie which showcase their versatility in action as well. And not to mention, Lee Sun-bin who always have the pretty face but a good actress as well. Last but definitely not the least, you have to watch out for Bae Jeong-nam’s supporting role as Hyun-min the wacky flight attendant. You’ll definitely love his role here.
