Bae Suzy, Nam Joo Hyuk, Kim Seon Ho, and Kang Han Na completed the casts line-up of tvN’s upcoming Saturday-Sunday drama, Start-up.
Start-up is a drama that depicts the beginning (start) and growth (up) of young people in the world of start-up companies, which is set in South Korea’s fictional Silicon Valley, called Sandbox.
It will be directed by Oh Choong Hwan who directed the 2019 drama Hotel Del Luna and written by Park Hye Ryun of I Hear Your Voice. The two will be reunited after they worked on the 2017 drama While You Were Sleeping.
Following the characters in the said drama, Bae Suzy plays the character of Seo Dal Mi, who dreams of becoming Korea’s Steve Jobs.
She has a lot of experience in various part-time jobs and she’s a person with great vitality. We will see how Seo Dal Mi overcomes the hardships she faces with his bubbly and lovely charm.
Along with her is Nam Joo Hyuk playing the role of Nam Do San, founder of Samsan Tech. He was once the pride of his family for being a math genius, but now he’s labeled as disgrace to his family who has been losing investments for two years.
Moreover, he becomes a cool first love in Seo Dal Mi’s (Bae Suzy) memory. Making the understanding into reality, he decides to begin a startup to shine again in the field.
Kim Seon Ho will play as Han Ji Pyeong who owns a startup company that pays his debts. He is the head of SH Venture Capital’s senior team who is called Gordon Ramsay for his impressive investment skills and sharp remarks.
Showing his gratitude to everyone who is good at him in the past, he becomes gentle and a softer person to them.
Lastly, Kang Han Na also joined the casts as she plays the character of CEO Won Jae, who has an outstanding educational background, beauty, and financial resources.
She finds her title as the second generation chaebol a weakness and works hard to gain her own success and be recognized for her own skills.
Won Jae starts a startup to cut off the leash from his father as she was being used and being thrown away like a disposable piece.
The Start-up production team shared on August 4, “Bae Suzy, Nam Joo Hyuk, Kim Seon Ho, and Kang Han Na have different energy from the hot youth stars.”
“We are all filming hard to find challenging, relatable, and trendy works as we deal with the stories of youth. So, please watch the first broadcast with a lot of interest and affection,” they added.
Meanwhile, Bae Suzy and Nam Joo Hyun were spotted on May 6, filming the said drama.
Start-up is scheduled to premiere in October.
