EXO’s Park Chanyeol confirmed to make his Korean big screen debut with the upcoming movie “The Box.”
An official from SM Entertainment confirmed on July 30 that Chanyeol would be appearing in the movie.
Earlier, the movie officials revealed that Chanyeol has decided to portray the lead role in the movie and they are currently discussing the details.
“The Box” is a jukebox musical film about the musical journey of an aspiring singer and a producer who enjoyed the peak of popularity in the past and now facing a decline on their career.
Aside from taking the lead role, Chanyeol will also showcase his talent as he will also be participating in producing and re-arranging the songs he will be singing in the movie.
Famous theater Director Yang Jung Woong, who is in charge of the opening ceremony of the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics, will be directing the movie.
Previously, Chanyeol made his screen debut in 2015 with the movie “Salut d’Amour,” and in 2016 he starred in a Korean-Chinese joint film “So I Married an Anti-Fan.” He also appeared in Korean Dramas like “Missing 9,” and “Memories of Alhambra.”
“The Box” plans to start filming by the end of August after completing the cast line-up.
Recently, Chanyeol made a remarkable return with Sehun as EXO-SC with the album “1 Billion Views.” He has also been selected as the newest model of the brand NACIFIC.
