Tiffany Young and her Life’s Playlist

On December 20, 2019, Teen Vogue posts a YouTube video of Tiffany Young listing down the songs that mean so much to her. As she lists each song, she also tells the story attached to it. You can also see a variety of genres and artists from her choices.

Tiffany Young is a member of the K-pop girl group Girls’ Generation and the second member of the group to have a solo debut with “I Just Wanna Dance”. Now she’s coming here in Manila on January 25, 2020, to share her talent with all her Filipino fans. Her show is entitled, Open Hearts Eve Part Two solo concert at the New Frontier Theater.

Here are the songs that she has listed as the Playlist of Her Life :

1. Sweet Dreams by Eurythmics

Tiffany said that this is the song that she listen to when she needed to get into character.

2. Express Yourself by Madonna

Tiffany was able to do her first cover of this song through her Magnetic Moon Concert. She also encourages everybody to express herself.

3. I’m Still Standing by Elton John

The simplicity and honesty of the song made a mark with Tiffany. She also said that this song can uplift you no matter what mood you are in.

4. Kiss by Prince

She said that this was one of the songs she was listening to growing up and that she named her dog after Prince because Kiss by Prince was playing in her earphones when she first met her dog.

5. Poker Face by Lady Gaga

She loves all of Lady Gaga’s songs but she chose this one because this was the song she got to cover.

6. Umbrella by Rhianna

This song inspired her because it was one of the longest chart-topping songs and the whole world was listening to it. She also said that she was able to cover this song on her solo concert in 2009.

7. Wrecking Ball by Miley Cyrus

It was a song that shocked the world visually but Tiffany loves how it was so beautifully complicated and raw. The honesty it reflects was something she loves about it.

8. Reflection by Lea Salonga/Christina Aguilera

She said she loves both versions. Tiffany remembers watching Lea Salonga play different Disney princesses and dreamt she can be a Disney princess one day. This was also the first song she performed on stage.
