LOOK: Bela Padilla to replace Nadine Lustre as lead cast in “Miracle in Cell No. 7” Filipino remake
On July 3, news about the Filipino adaptation of the multi-awarded Korean comedy-drama film, Miracle in Cell No. 7 fired up together with its cast members — Aga Muchlach and Nadine Lustre under Viva Films.
However, late afternoon on July 25, it was revealed that there will be a replacement of the lead cast in the said movie.
Wherein, Bela Padilla will replace Nadine Lustre as the lead actress in the Filipino adaptation of Miracle in Cell No. 7. Accordingly, the film is one of the four initial entries for this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).
The MMFF spokesperson, Noel Ferrer said in a conference at the MMDA building in Makati City, “We (MMFF) approved the change of the lead actress doon sa Miracle in Cell No. 7 from Nadine Lustre to Bela Padilla.”
Based on him, Viva Artists Agency (Viva) stated persistent medical concerns for the replacement of the cast.
“‘Yun ‘yung letter ng Viva na because of persistent medical concerns resulting in her inability to perform her duties as an actress, Nadine will be replaced by Bela Padilla,” he stated.
Moreover, Ferrer also explained that changes in the casts are allowed until July 30.
Meanwhile, Miracle in Cell No. 7 is a warmhearted comedy relates the story of Yong-gu, a mentally challenged father who’s wrongly jailed for the murder of a young girl.
