LOOK: Is Girls Day really disbanded?

The continous talks about the group’s disbandment started in January after the members decided to not renew their contracts with Dream T Entertainment (after 10 years) and sign with new different agencies.

However, Dream T Ent. cleared that they are not disbanding the group and the members are simply parting ways with the company to focus on their solo careers.

This was their official statement last January:

“Hello, this is Dream T Entertainment. We are relaying our official statement regarding the reports related to Girl’s Day today.

Sojin’s exclusive contract with Dream T Entertainment is expiring in February 2019 and the decision to not renew was made.

The remaining members (Yura, Minah, Yeri) also have contracts expiring this year, so they are in discussion with the company in many ways.

There is no intention to disband Girl’s Day’s group activities. We are seeking ways for the group to do activities together in the future.

We ask for a lot of support so that all of the members can be more active and branch out into diverse activities.

Thank you.”

As of writing; Sojin, Yura and Minah have already signed with new agencies.

It was announced on March 19 that Sojin signed with noon company.

The next day, March 20, Yura was confirmed to have signed with Awesome ENT.

On March 29, Yooborn Company confirmed that Minah signed an exclusive contract with them.

On the other hand, C-Jes Entertainment denied signing with  maknae Hyeri but she is currently in talks to star in TvN’s upcoming office drama “Miss Lee”.

So officially, Girls Day IS NOT DISBANDED.

We can still hope and wait for their future activities as a group. For the mean time, let us support them on their new endeavors.

For the mean time, below is one of their MVs to watch while we wait for their future comeback.
