Thai star Aon Somrutai launches Philippine career with GLXY Talent Management and Universal Records
Thai content creator and entrepreneur Aon Somrutai made her most awaited first-ever visit to the Philippines last July 13. Through her partnership with GLXY Talent Management and Universal Records, the visit signified the start of extending her reach into the Philippine entertainment industry.
One of Thailand’s biggest online personalities, Aon has gained millions of social media followers for her fascinating content on lifestyle, fashion, luxury, and travel. With a dedicated global fanbase, her iconic expression “Thank You, Kateyki!” became viral around Asia. Together with her husband, known as “Doctor” on social media, Aon came to Manila last July 13 for a series of media promotions, partnerships, and exclusive events connecting her to Filipino viewers.
She was given a warm welcome to the country through a dinner at Lola Ote Restaurant, where she had interviews and engaged with members of the press and Filipino content creators like M1ss Jade So of Drag Race Philippines Season 2, and TikTokers Evan Tan and Andrea So. At this time, Aon and her husband participated in a mukbang video with social media personality Small Laude, where they got to try authentic Filipino comfort food through some of the restaurant’s signature dishes like sisig and barbecue.
Moreover, Aon had an exclusive photoshoot with MEGA Magazine inside The Peninsula Manila for a feature on its cover. The video she filmed wearing her stunning evening gown at the iconic hotel became viral not long after, gaining over 11 million views on Instagram and more than 3 million views on TikTok.
Aon also appeared on the famous noontime program It’s Showtime last July 15, where she danced along to the fun viral song “Oooh La La Baby” by the Baby Dolls to the delight of the viewers.
