Tata Taktumi recently released new single “Not So Bad”
Tata Taktumi, or “Tata”, has released her new single “Not So Bad”, drawing global attention. Released via Pacific Music Group (PMG), this project was anchored by Tata’s real vocals and performance, alongside creative direction from multi-Grammy Award-winning producer Timbaland. The project underscores that technology requires human intention, and creativity is still driven by real people.

Tata’s creative journey with “Not So Bad”
Tata’s journey began through the internationally renowned Jabbawockeez network. Recognizing her presence and creative potential, Timbaland saw an opportunity to evolve the role into something far greater. While the project has drawn global attention for its use of emerging technologies (such as AI as a reimagining and sound-design tool), it still has a deeply human foundation coming from lived experience, artistic instinct, and hands-on collaboration.
“It’s an honor to be working with one of the greatest producers while also shaping my artistry through this process. This project is built on real performance, collaboration, and creativity, with technology helping expand what we can imagine. I’m having fun creating, and it inspires me.”
Tata shares.
Timbaland has been known for pushing sonic boundaries and experimenting with new production techniques. His visionary approach to production, “Not So Bad,” explores how advanced creative tools can expand human artistry. AI helped transform and reinterpret original human-made musical ideas into new sonic possibilities. However, the songwriting, creative direction, performance choices, and final production remained human-led.
