Chen tried some of the Filipino foods!
It’s been almost a month since Chen’s successful ARCADIA concert in Manila, and our longing for him persists. Thankfully, Chen recently uploaded a mukbang ASMR vlog to his YouTube channel, showcasing him indulging in mouth-watering Filipino delicacies during his stay in Manila.
He indulged in a feast of Mang Inasal’s signature chicken, complemented by the tangy warmth of sinigang soup, sisig, turon, and some Filipino snacks such as cracklings, Boy Bawang, chicharon, and Peanut Kisses.
He first tried Mang Inasal’s chicken and said that it was so delicious, and the taste was familiar to him. He also took a bite of palabok and barbecue and said that it was perfectly seasoned.
His palate was further delighted by the savory crunch of sisig. He said, “The seasoning isn’t too strong, and it’s so good with rice.” He added, “I’ve been here so many times, but how could I have never tried this before. I really can’t stop eating this.”
After that, he tried sinigang soup, and his reaction was quite amusing after tasting it. He said it was sour, so he couldn’t eat it.
He also eats turon and said that he was curious about this too. He loved the sweet, crispy perfection of turon and finished two. He said he would share some with the staff and friends. He highly recommended it and said that it’s absolutely a must-try snack!
Chen also had an assortment of classic Filipino snacks- cracklings, which he also loved and couldn’t stop eating. “It’s exactly that kind of taste, a flavor you can keep eating without getting tired of it,” he shared.
His profound love for peanuts extended to the Peanut Kisses, which he savored with particular delight. He also shared that peanut and strawberry jam are a perfect combination for a sandwich spread. He also tried Boy Bawang and crispy chicharon dipped into vinegar, which he also loved. “When I eat snacks, I really like super crunchy ones,” he shared.
Chen stated, “I’ve been to the Philippines quite a few times. I was always disappointed that I hadn’t properly tried local food, but after trying it today, I thought I shouldn’t eat the same things all the time.”
Turon left a strong impression on him and said, “If you visit the Philippines, you absolutely have to try it, it’s very delicious!”
