The “KPop Demon Hunters” craze has no time to fade away in the Philippines with a special collaboration with 8seconds!
Samsung C&T Fashion Group’s flagship casual wear brand, 8seconds is bridging the gap between Netflix’s global K-Movie phenomenon, “KPop Demon Hunters” and streetwear fashion in an exclusive collection.
8seconds took the film’s unique fashion choices to incorporate them in this special streetwear collection. From the dynamic rivalry with chart-topping hits, the groups of HUNTR/X and Saja Boys have captured a massive audience of all age groups. Now, this on-screen popularity can now be tangible and be worn by Filipino fans, made possible by 8seconds.
The lineup includes graphic tees, lightweight knits, argyle sweaters, denim skirts, and sweatshirts that are all inspired by the film’s fashion aesthetic. A highly recognizable character, “Derpy,” the blue tiger from the film, can also be seen featured in some of the fashion pieces.
Kim Dong-woon, the Executive Vice President of Samsung C&T Fashion Group and Head of the 8seconds Division, has shared that this launch is special since the Philippines is “effectively the heartbeat of K-culture in Southeast Asia.”
Furthermore, he added, “With KPop Demon Hunters, we didn’t just want to slap a logo on a shirt. We wanted to capture the vibrant, rebellious energy of the HUNTR/X group and translate it into pieces that fit the Manila lifestyle. This collection is for the fan who wants to carry a piece of that world with them, effortlessly, every day.
This launch coincides with the upcoming holiday shopping season, and the brand will showcase the collaboration as a centerpiece of their newly opened branch, Robinsons Manila. With an aim to capture the city’s vibrant market, 8seconds now has three retail stores in Metro Manila—SM Mall of Asia, Uptown BGC, and the newly opened Robinsons Manila.
