13 highlights in BTOB’s career that MELODY will always cherish
True to their name “Born to Beat,” BTOB is a beloved boy group for their distinct music style and versatility as kings of vocal harmony. Known as “beagle-dols,” BTOB is adored for their loud and energetic dynamics as a group.

As BTOB celebrates their 13th anniversary this year, let us look back on 13 special moments that are surely unforgettable for every MELODY.
1. Debut
BTOB made their debut with their first digital single “Insane” on March 21, 2012. This kicked off their career, becoming the 2nd boy group to come out of Cube Entertainment.

2. First reality show
A month after their debut, BTOB starred in their first reality show was “BTOB Amazone” which started airing in April 2012 on Mnet. This series showcased BTOB’s performance skills as they go through various places like a theme park, while doing fun missions and gaining more experiences with different kinds of audiences.

3. Fandom name announcement
BTOB made their fandom name official as “MELODY” through a Facebook post and a special YouTube video message for fans on May 15, 2012. Until now, BTOB and MELODY continue to share an endearing mutual appreciation and love for each other.
4. First major award
BTOB received their first major award in 2013, having won the “Next Generation Star” in Golden Disk Awards. A truly special achievement made possible by BTOB and MELODY!

5. BTOB’s appearance in “America’s Next Top Model”
One fun fact about BTOB is that they appeared on “America’s Next Top Model” in 2014, during the show’s filming in Korea. BTOB taught the choreography for “Beep Beep” to the models, and judged their dance performance after.

6. Japanese debut
BTOB made their Japanese debut with the single “WOW” on November 12, 2014. The single included the Japanese version of “Second Confession” and the title track “WOW.”

7. First concert
BTOB held their first concert “Hello Melody” in Seoul, Korea on October 31 and November 1, 2014. It was a special opportunity for BTOB and MELODY to spend a close time together while enjoying the group’s live music and performances.

8. First music show win
BTOB received their first-ever music show win on October 21, 2015, at Show Champion for “Way Back Home,” the title track of their 7th EP “I Mean.” The members looked surprised when it was first announced, and they extended messages of gratitude to everyone who made the win possible.

9. First full-length album
Almost 3 years after their debut, BTOB released their first studio album “Complete” on June 29, 2015. It contained 13 tracks, including a bonus track, an acoustic version of their debut song, and Ilhoon’s solo as the outro track.

10. First OST
BTOB released their first group OST was “For You,” a part of the soundtrack for the drama “Cinderella and the Four Knights” in 2016. BTOB’s expressive vocals are really perfect for a K-drama OST!

11. Release of “Missing You”
Up to now, “Missing You” remains as BTOB’s most iconic song. It became a hit song almost immediately after it was released on October 16, 2017, claiming the top spot in multiple real-time music charts in South Korea within hours.

12. BTOB joining “Kingdom”
In 2021, BTOB participated in Mnet’s reality survival show “Kingdom: Legendary War” alongside iKON, SF9, Ateez, The Boyz, and Stray Kids. Here, they were able to showcase their vocal and performance skills, as well as reveal new sides of themselves to the general public.

13. Establishing BTOB Company
After leaving Cube Entertainment when their contracts ended in 2023, BTOB announced the establishment of their new label BTOB Company on February 21, 2024. It houses BTOB members Eunkwang, Minhyuk, Hyunsik, and Peniel, while Changsub is signed under Fantagio and Sungjae is under iWill Media.
This marked a fresh start for BTOB and it’s exciting to see how much more they can grow as a group in the future!
