THE BOYZ lights up the stage and Filipino THE Bs’ hearts during their “Zeneration II” concert in Manila
The beloved boy group, THE BOYZ, has finally come back to the Philippines to meet their Filipino fans one more time, with impressive performances and wonderful live music.
Previously, THE BOYZ have already been to the Philippines for their fan meeting in 2019, the K-Verse concert and the first “Zeneration” concert in 2023, as well as the KWAVE Music Festival earlier this year. In fact, THE BOYZ even filmed their music video for one of their title tracks, “Lip Gloss,” in Siargao last year.
Once again, THE BOYZ showed their love for Filipino THE Bs as they held their “Zeneration II” concert in Manila at the SM Mall of Asia Arena last August 25.
Let’s recall some of the highlights during that special night!
High-quality performances
THE BOYZ have always been known for their impactful performances, and they went beyond everyone’s expectations with the way they entered the stage during their latest concert.
Starting with powerful songs like “Diamond Life,” “Out of Control,” “Maverick,” “Levitating,” and “Breaking Dawn,” THE BOYZ showed everyone why it was worth coming to see them live. They also hyped up the audience with high-energy tracks like “Complete Me,” “Right Here,” “Fantasize,” “Thrill Ride,” and “D.D.D.”, giving the fans a chance to stand up from their seats and jump along with THE BOYZ.
Meanwhile, they also showed off their vocals and wowed the audience with ballads and slower songs like “Walkin’ In Time,” “Horizon,” “Survive the Night,” “Back 2 U” and “Hurt Me Less.” Lastly, THE BOYZ performed some of their classics like “Reveal,” “Nectar,” “The Stealer,” “Fire Eyes,” and “Watch It,” creating a fiery atmosphere for everyone. Kevin even took off his top in the middle of a performance, inciting a loud reaction from the fans.
Memorable time with fans
Aside from THE BOYZ’s performances, one of the highlights of the concert was their adorable interactions with Filipino THE Bs. Every once in a while, THE BOYZ would go around the stage and enjoy being closer to fans. Even during the short time allotted for their brief speeches, the members were able to express their sincere appreciation to everyone who came to their concert.
Eric repeatedly referred to Manila as their “hometown,” stating that “it’s always great to be home.” Kevin thanked everyone for the memories and being “loyal and passionate fans,” sharing his wish to come back again soon. Jacob also surprised the audience with a short serenade he prepared, which came in the form of Zack Tabudlo’s “Binibini”.
As a way to give back, Filipino THE Bs prepared several fan projects to shower THE BOYZ with love. Hand banners were given to all attendees, with a slogan saying “Our beloved THE BOYZ, let’s meet in every universe!” They also prepared LED screens showing “THE B ❤️ TBZ” and a large banner with the message “TBZ filled up THE B’s youth with warmth.” THE BOYZ was able to notice all of these and took the time to share their gratitude for the fans’ efforts.
Hinting at future projects
During the concert, THE BOYZ performed an unreleased song entitled “Bite Back.” Earlier, they revealed that it was going to be one of their B-side tracks for the next album they’ll be releasing. With that, they kept reassuring fans that they’ll be back soon with new music and performances, so THE Bs can look forward to their upcoming comeback.
Meanwhile, Juyeon also mentioned passingly that having Zeneration 1 and 2 means that there will also be Zeneration 3 and 4. The promise of more concerts and of THE BOYZ coming back again to the country excited fans, leaving everyone with something to anticipate. Younghoon said that they’ll keep up the energy they received from fans for their “next concert” and “next comeback”. Thus, THE Bs can definitely expect more from THE BOYZ in the coming months!
