Joo Chang Uk is the lead dancer and lead vocalist of the boy group DRIPPIN under Woollim Entertainment.
He started his career as he joined as a contestant on Mnet’s reality show Produce X 101 last 2019. Unfortunately, despite his impressive performances, he ranked 29th in the 11th episode and was eliminated from the competition. But that doesn’t end there.
A few months after Produce X 101 ended, it was announced that the W PROJECT would be returning with its fourth installment. He was introduced as a member of the project, showcasing his ongoing commitment to his idol career. This project released a collaboration single titled ‘1M1S.’
Woollim Entertainment revealed plans to debut a new boy group the following year. On that same day, it was confirmed that Joo Chang Uk would be a member of the newly formed group, namely, DRIPPIN. More than a month after, the group made their official debut on October 2020, with the mini-album ‘Boyager.’
However, earlier this year, Woollim Entertainment announced that Joo Chang Uk would be suspending his activities due to health concerns. He was experiencing symptoms of poor physical condition and was diagnosed with a respiratory disease while preparing for an upcoming comeback. As a result, he was unable to participate in the promotions for ‘Beautiful MAZE.’
Fortunately, a month later, it was announced that Joo Chang Uk would be resuming his activities. Additionally, the group is currently preparing for their latest comeback, ‘Weekend.’
