Lee Chaeyeon reveals another side of herself in new EP “SHOWDOWN”
Lee Chaeyeon is back with her 3rd EP, “SHOWDOWN”! This marks her first comeback in 10 months since she released her 1st single album “The Move : Street” last September 2023.
The title track “Don’t” is a two-step dance pop song infused with familiar sounds like the vibration and ringtone of a cellphone, making it feel different. With an addictive melody that easily sticks to listeners, the song has repetitive lyrics about what goes through one’s mind when experiencing a breakup.
Chaeyeon participated in writing the lyrics and making the choreography for this, showing her artistic side and proving her skills as an all-rounder.
The “SHOWDOWN” EP alludes to a showdown in a sports game, conveying a confrontation between the present self and another self, and the contrast they show in various styles and moods. Overall, the new EP consists of 5 songs including “Summer Heat,” “Supernatural,” and “Standing On My Own”.
Lastly, Chaeyeon also wrote the lyrics to another song “Dreaming,” which expresses her deep love for fans.
