The title track “PRIME TIME” is an anthem with a strong message about empowerment and breaking free from the limitations that come with being a K-pop idol. It features the talented female rapper Lil Cherry, adding powerful rap verses and electronic sounds to the song with bright pop melodies. MIN hopes for listeners to accept their individuality and feel confident about themselves with this song.

Overall, the EP consists of four songs, including “SHIMMY (Skip)”, “M.A.W (Might as Well)”, and “Happy Plant (A Call From Grandma)“, the last track being an especially affecting song for MIN.

It is inspired by MIN’s grandmother in Korea and their phone conversation about their happy plant blooming at home, signifying a rare event that holds deep meaning for them. MIN uses this as a metaphor in connection to the nature of life, filled with challenges and opportunities for growth. Through this song, she wishes for listeners to treasure their loved ones more.

I hope that this EP is one that empowers people, that instills in the listeners hope and an empowerment that you, too, can live the way that you’d like without having to answer to any critics and naysayers.

From the rigid world of K-pop to the spirited music scene in New York, MIN’s artistry has been highly influenced by her previous experiences. Her latest EP highlights this feeling of freedom and MIN’s changed sound.

As she looks back at her career as a K-pop idol, MIN shares that it was both an incredible and challenging experience to be part of a successful group. “After existing within the K-pop industry for so long, I felt as though I had to exist within a certain mold, look a certain way, dress a certain way, etc,” MIN said. This led MIN to develop an aspiration for authenticity, which she found in New York, where she got affirmed to accept her true self.
