Appreciate life with CHEN’s fourth mini album, “DOOR”
Last May 28, CHEN released his fourth mini album “DOOR”. He released the music video for the title track,“Empty”, on the same day.
There was always this saying that in EXO Planet, you meet EXO at the time you need them. EXO has always been a staple in my life, through the sad moments and the happy ones. CHEN’s songs have always been one of my comforts, and this album is one of them. It came at a time when I needed it most.

“Empty” is a sentimental track that laments the loss of a loved one’s presence, but still celebrating the memories they shared together. The video starts with CHEN lying down, but ends with him finally leaving the empty house. It shows that while grief is an all-consuming feeling, it will not last forever. But there is also nothing wrong with letting yourself feel it while it is happening.

“Dandelion” is the second track, which CHEN wrote with BAEKHYUN. It likens the vulnerability of human emotions to a delicate flower. The third track is “PLAYLIST”, which also features HAON and BE’O. It is an adorable song that showcases a smitten persona that wants to be with their lover always. Like a playlist you just cannot get enough of!
“Fall in Love Again” is a cheerful retro pop track that showcases the excitement of two lovers staying with each other. It is an adorable song to dedicate to your partner! The next track, “Starlight”, sings that despite the distance, their love will always reach them.
“Remember” is the final track, and my most favorite. When I first heard it in the highlight medley, I fell in love. While it is a song that expresses regret for a failed relationship, CHEN was able to convey the emotions that I felt piercing through my heart.
Being in the music industry for 12 years, CHEN shows that his vocal prowess doesn’t waver. He rightfully earned his seat at the table, and he is not going to give it up!
