Artists who have donated in observance of the Children’s Day in South Korea
May 5th is Children’s Day or 어린이날 in South Korea – it is a day to celebrate children and their value and rights in the society.

During this time of the year, a lot of artists in the country are celebrating the lives of these children through helping various organizations that support children and their welfare.
From IU, who donates 100 million won every Children’s Day, to Park Bo-young, Kim Go-eun, and ATEEZ’s Hongjoong, others are setting an example by donating 50 million won for children.
Edam Entertainment announced the news of IU’s donation along with a certificate of sponsorship on the 5th through its official social media account.

The donation was named after the singer-actress and her fandom name “IUAENA”.

Meanwhile, through his agency’s confirmation— ATEEZ’s Hongjoong also donated 50 million won to ‘World Vision’ to support youth who take care of family members with illnesses or disabilities.

On the other hand, on May 4th, Go Min-si donated 50 million won to Asan Medical Center in Seoul. Asan Medical Center in Seoul plans to use this donation to support the treatment and surgical expenses for vulnerable child patients.

To add on the list, Ahn Hyoseop also donated 50 million won to UNICEF.
The fund will be utilized only to support children worldwide who are unable to celebrate Children’s Day because of conflict, natural disasters, poverty, illness, etc.

In addition, on May 3rd, Kim Go-eun donated 50 million won to a children’s hospital to improve children’s medical care. The actress’ donation, which has continued for four years since 2021, has been used to treat children who have financial difficulties in treating chronic or serious diseases.

To cap off the list, Park Bo-young also donated 50 million won to underprivileged children and female adolescents in Korea through the international development cooperation called ‘G Foundation’.
