“Uncle Samsik” starring Song Kang Ho and Byun Yo Han is coming exclusively to Disney+ on May 15!

The most anticipated Korean political drama is coming exclusively to Disney+ this May!

Set in the early 1960s, Uncle Samsik depicts the story of Sam Sik and Kim San who will join hands to transform a struggling post-war Korea into a prosperous country.

Song Kang Ho who is popular for his role in the award-winning 2019 film, Parasite, takes the role of Park Doo Chil/Uncle Samsik, a fixer who can easily adapt to any situation and takes whatever steps necessary to accomplish his goals.

Last year, Kang Ho once again showcased his acting prowess in the film, Cobweb.

Byun Yohan, a well-known actor who is remarkable for his roles in the dramas, Six Flying Dragons and Mister Sunshine portrays the role of Kim San, a man who wants nothing more than to transform his country into an industrial nation. He is a recipient of the Albright Scholarship.

Together with Uncle Samsik, they will strive to get a prosperous future for Korea.

Uncle Samsik is penned and helmed by Shin Yeon Shick the man behind the films, Cassiopeia and Romans 8:37.

This will be Shin Yeon Shick and Song Kang Ho’s reunion since they worked together in the 2023 film, Cobweb.

Uncle Samsik premieres on May 15  with five episodes, followed by two episodes per week until the three-part season finale on June 19.
