As of 5:00 PM on November 30, 2023, five Korean tourism promotional clips that were released last October 24, 2023, by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism along with Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) had garnered an estimated 225.3 views.

The five promotional clips include the following:

1. WHAT IF [VINCENT VAN GOGH] VISITED KOREA

2. LIVE SQUID GAME

3. QUEENDOM : KOREAN ARCHERY

4. GUARDIAN’S FIREWORKS

5. KOREA NEVER FORGETS

Appearing more naturally, in each painter’s style took six months, which included the training of generative AI, using new digital technologies.

It was also noticeable how three of the promotional clips were inspired by global Korean content such as “Squid Game” (set on Ulleungdo Island), “Queendom: Korean Archery” (Suwon Hwaseong Fortress), and “Guardian’s Fireworks” (Haman Nakhanori). The clips were created to entice tourists to visit the attractive elements of each region.

Aside from showcasing the amazing views of each region, they also created an inspirational clip about the Campagna couple, that aims to deliver the message,”Korea never forgets gratutude”. A touching story that shows the kindness of the couple as they took in Korean tourists who were stranded in a snowstorm.

But out of all the five clips, “What if (Vincent Van Gogh) visited Korea” has the most views with 59.88 million. The creativity of using the style of the 11 world-class painters (Van Gogh, Munch, Monet, etc.) to introduce Korea’s tourist destinations was praiseworthy
