BTS created history by topping the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart with English single titled Dynamite on September 1.
It is the first time that the seven-piece group made it to the list and also the first time that a South Korean pop act has taken home the first spot.
Dynamite was only recently released, August 21, and no more than one month has passed as they took a jaw dropping award with them!
The songs chart is composed of United States streaming, radio airplay, and sales data.
On the same day, the president of the South Korea, Moon Jae In, congratulated the group for bagging another achievement that wrote “a new chapter in K-pop history.”
He said, “It is truly amazing. It is a splendid feat that further raises pride in K-pop. The song “Dynamite,” which topped the list, is all the more meaningful as it has been composed to give a message of comfort and hope to people around the world who are struggling with COVID-19.”
Meamwhile, BTS also bagged Best Group, Best K-pop, Best Pop, and Best Choreography at the 2020 Video Music Awards on August 31.
