Did you all know that Lee Sung Kyung already visited Manila with Be Joyful fan meeting?
If you are looking for a perfect Korean drama that can ease your pain a little and make your day brighter, here’s our recommendation for you!
1. From friends to lovers kind of relationship
Kim Bok Joo (Lee Sung Kyung) and Jung Joon Hyun (Nam Joo Hyuk) came from the same school but not aware of one another’s presence. They became familiar with one another with the lost handkerchief of Jung Joon Hyun; then things were revealed and goes on. Afterwards, the two had started out as friends. It was such a relationship goals because they had all the time to know one another at first before they became lovers. There’s nothing like “rushing things” in their relationship; though, they had also faced various struggles in here. For me, that is normal and how they handled their problems was fine too.
We are not talking about Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo without bringing up the chemistry of Kim Bok Joo and Jung Joon Hyung. Personally, I do think that the two of them really look good together. The way how they look to each other’s eyes and the way how they smile with one another are just so superb. I always get swayed by them and their relationship while watching it. Maybe, it could be because of their great acting skills or there might be something more about it.
All I know is that Bok Joo and Joon Hyung are so cute together. Wherein, they’ve brought up all their best to make the K-drama more interesting and worthy to watch.
3. Sweeg BFFs
The catchphrase that we have heard almost all the time in this drama is sweeg or swag. This term is used by many to say awesome. For the trio in this drama, they had even added a hand gesture whenever saying sweeg. We have usually heard them tell this when they were eating Korean BBQ, training time, or when they were just hanging out with one another.
Book Joo, Nan Hee, and Seon Ok had perfectly given us the BFF goals. Although they have encountered difficulties in life, they have chosen to remain with one another’s side. Practically, we have witnessed their loyalty and pure love for each other.
Oh! Remember the other trademark in here? Do you like Messi?
4. Character’s development
It wasn’t so easy for Joon Hyung to be a swimmer and so to the trio being weightlifters. Other people’s bad comments were present but they have chosen to focus and show off a sweet smile.
Throughout the drama, they continually change and accept in-depth development. It was so good to see because it helps in reminding tye viewers that all of us might need to undergo changes for our own good. This kind of reflection is also great to deepen our understanding towards the meaning of life and importance of the people around us.
5. Character’s determination
Although all the characters seem to be fine on our eyes; they still had the individual battles need to fight with. What I admire the most about them especially to Joon Hyung and sweeg bffs is their determination. Instead of quitting and turning their back on their problems, they had even do their best until they’ve reached their goals.
Seriously, I really think that they are such a great model to look up on. Everyone of us has different struggles to face in life but their determination in life is visible. In addition, the way they perceived things are also good and have reasonable justification for it. What is right is right; and what is good is good.
The main genre of Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo is coming of age. However, it has also showed off the romantic comedy ones. The combination of the chosen genres effectiveness are not too much or any little. It was actually good to take off such categories to send out message and reach many viewers.
In fact, through the genres it has, many have gotten the lessons they want to spread out. In addition, it was actually fun watching the K-drama. Yet, it cannot be denied that there were scenes that have squeezed my heart.
All in all, Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo is not the ordinary romantic drama; it focuses well on youth struggles, family matter, and handling relationships.
7. Flow of the story
Personally, what I liked about Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo is the fact that there’s nothing in here as forced. Things were realistic and relatable that we can actually get swayed by it. However, it doesn’t make the K-drama any less; it actually helped a lot to execute the scenes especially its ending. Truthfully, I didn’t even noticed myself reaching the last episode of it. I was even shocked upon knowing that I had finally got to the last part. There’s even no dull moment in here; everything is enjoyable and worth it for staying up all night.
Overall, Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo is so good to watch. It wouldn’t just make us laugh but will also teach us life lessons. Moreover, it is a great K-drama to watch all over again to lessen our stress and make us fall in love with it and its characters.
