​Noona-Dongsaeng Romance in Kdramas

As they say, age is just a number. It is also true in some of the Kdramas that we’ve seen where a Noona-Dongsaeng romance exists.

1. Baby Faced Beauty (2011)

So Young, played by Jang Na Ra, is a 34-year old fashion designer who has to fake her age to get a job. She eventually captured the heart of Jin Wook, played by Choi Daniel, who is 7 years younger than him. Indeed, Jang Na Ra has a baby faced beauty.

2. I Do, I Do (2012)

Kim Sun Ah’s character, Hwang Ji Ahn is in her late 30s. She got pregnant by Park Tae Kang played Lee Jang Woo who is in his 20s. Kim Sun Ah is our ultimate noona/unnie. One of her famous work is My Lovely Kim Sam Soon.

3. I Hear Your Voice (2013)

Lee Bo Young ang Lee Jong Suk characters, Jang Hye Sung and Park Soo Ha first met when they were only 18 and 9 years old respectively. Even though Lee Bo Young is older IRL, she still has that baby face.

4. Witch’s Romance (2014)

Um Jung Hwa played the role of Ban Ji Yeon (39 y/o) while Park Seo Joon played the role of Yoon Dong Ha (25 y/o). Palaban si Seo Joon dito mga bes. Episode 2 pa lang lavern na. 

5. High School King of Savvy (2014)

Seo In Guk’s character, Lee Min Seok is just a highschool student who impersonated his brother in the workplace and eventually fell in love with Lee Ha Na’s character, Jung Soo Young. We miss you Seo In Guk!

6. I Need Romance 3 (2014)

Sung Joon played the role of Joo Wan, a 26-year old songwriter who fell in love with the daughter of his mom’s friend, Shin Joo Yeon, a 33-year old marketing director played by Kim So Yeon.

7. Cunning Single Lady (2014)

Seo Kang Joon’s character, Gook Seung-hyun, became attracted to Lee Min Jung’s character, Na Ae Ra, depite the 8-year age gap. Mapapakanta ka ng, “He looks at me and his brown eyes tell his soul”

8. The Producers (2015)

Kim Soo Hyun’s character (Baek Seung Chan) had developed feelings to Gong Hyo Jin’s character, Tak Ye Jin, a PD with 10 years of experience. Real na real! 

9. Something in the Rain (2018)

New addition to this list is the 2018 Kdrama of Jung Hae In and Son Ye Yin, Something in the Rain, also known as Pretty Noona Who Buys Me Food. The series explores the relationship of the two main lead as they go from being “just acquaintances” to “a genuine couple”.

Ahn Jae Hyun and Gu Hye Sun of Blood (2015)

From Reel to Real Noona-Dongsaeng Romance, one of our favorite celebrity couple, Gu Hye Sun (32 y/o) and Ahn Jae Hyun (30 y/o) who got married in May 2016. And instead of holding a wedding party, they just donated the funds to a hospital’s pediatric ward.
